Image

The Guryevka River (Mühlen Fluss) is a small river in the Kaliningrad region whose main sources of pollution are human settlements, industrial plants and agriculture. During the Waterdrive project, water quality monitoring was performed and showed that nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations increase with the river flow from source to mouth. The results of the feasibility study on the construction of artificial wetlands were presented, as well as the ongoing activities related to the restoration of land melioration system. Numerous conferences, meetings and "round tables" were held to raise awareness of modern agri-environmental measures.
